What We Do:
The Hospitality Ministry attends to the nourishment needs of families within our church, especially when suffering with an illness, hospitalization or financial need. Fresh and/or frozen meals are prepared for families that find themselves in circumstances that limit or even eliminate their ability to provide for their daily food.
Special ministry efforts are conducted during the year, such as Thanksgiving baskets, to encourage members of our congregation and to reach out to the community.
Bulk items are also forwarded to various other Calvary Chapel Fellowships, area churches and ministries.
How to Get Help:
Anyone inquiring about the use of the pantry will be direct to speak to a Pastor first and fill out a card with minimal identification information. This allows us to sit down and discuss spiritual, emotional and financial concerns (pastoral guidance), as well as any referral to other church ministries.
How You Can Help:
- During Sunday/Wednesday Services – Volunteers are used to staff the pantry on a rotating schedule for all weekly services. The pantry is open after each service for approximately 30 minutes. The time is spent interviewing clients, scheduling follow-ups, referring them to other church ministries, and providing general pastoral guidance and evangelism. This is a great opportunity in particular for husband and wife teams to volunteer.
- During the Week – Volunteers stock and maintain the pantry, as well as shop for needed items.
- Donating Groceries/Toiletries – About once every six weeks an announcement is made in the bulletin for needed pantry items. These items include paper products, canned foods, box mixes and snacks.
- Preparing/Delivering Meals – We are always looking for volunteers to prepare meals and to deliver them to families or use in ministry outreaches.
